History

In 1992, the Arizona Model Railroading Society/Arizona Garden Railway Society (AMRS), which was originally founded in 1984, was told to vacate the Scottsdale property where at the time they were. AMRS believes that Adobe Mountain Park looks like a good area for them to move. They presented a request to Sahuaro Central in that nature. Later that year agreement was reached between AMRS and Sahuaro Central.

The Maricopa Live Steamers (MLS), operating at McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park in Scottsdale. They also wish to enter into an agreement with Sahuaro Central and transfer their operations to an area of ​​80 hectares of land that has been leased to Sahuaro Central. The agreement was reached in 1992.

The board of directors consists of two members from Sahuaro Central and two members from AMRS and MLS. The development of leased land to Sahuaro Central is controlled by Sahuaro Central's board of directors. The building that housed the headquarters of Sahuaro and Sahuaro Central Railroad Museum was once the Ranger Park Station at Adobe Mountain Park.
