California State University, San Bernardino , (also known as Cal State San Bernardino or CSUSB ), is a state university and one of 23 campus generals -campus system California State University. The main campus sits on 441 acres (178Ã, ha) in San Bernardino University District, California, USA, with a 40 hectare (16 acre) branch campus in Palm Desert, California, opened in 1986. In 2013, the State of California University, San Bernardino was named Best College 2014 in the Western Region by The Princeton Review for ten consecutive years, placing CSUSB among the top 25 percent of universities across the country. In 2011, California State University, San Bernardino Public Business and Administration College, Jack H. Brown is recognized by European CEO Magazine as one of the top 20 business schools in the world and one of the world's 18 schools the most innovative business.
Founded in 1965, Cal State San Bernardino's enrollment in Autumn 2016 was 20,767. In Autumn 2013, it has 864 faculties, of which 362 (or 42 percent) are in the grip of power.
The University offers Bachelor degrees in 138 programs, Master's degrees in 67 courses, Doctor of Education, and 23 teaching mandates.
The CSUSB sports team is known as Coyote and plays at the California Collegiate Athletics Association in Division II of the National Collegiate Athletics Association. The nickname was inspired by the coyotes that inhabit the area around the campus, located at the foot of the San Bernardino Mountains. CSUSB's women's volleyball team has won six CCAA and three Western Conference titles. The men's soccer team went to the NCAA Second Division national semifinals, clinching the first Academy College Athletics College title.

History
California State University, San Bernardino was created by the state legislature on 29 April 1960, as San Bernardino-Riverside State University. Later, California State College system supervisory board selected a 440-acre site in the town of San Bernardino in 1963 and its official name was changed to California State College in San Bernardino. Opened in 1965 with 293 students and 30 faculty members. CSUSB obtained its university status in 1984, officially becoming California State University, San Bernardino. Currently, the university has more than 18,000 students and 84,000 alumni.

Campus
Built on 441 hectares (178Ã, ha) of bedrock on the north side of the city, CSUSB is framed to the north by the San Bernardino Mountains. Over 1,300,000 square feet (120,000 m 2 ) of new facilities have been built to meet students' academic and social needs. The campus housing housing provides more than 1,500 beds.
The new College of Education building opened in 2008. Santos Student Union Manuel has doubled in recent years, and the new 3,000m² Fitness and Recreation Center (3,300m 2 ) was completed in the year 2007. Other facilities built recently include the building of Social Sciences and Behavior and Chemistry.
The John M. Pfau Library, named after the university's first president, sits at the center of the campus. Other typical university landmarks include: the clock tower above Santos Manuel Student Union, Robert V. Fullerton Art Museum, and James & amp; Aerianthi Coussoulis Arena, modern seating and sports seating, 4,000-plus - one of Indies's largest indoor arenas.
In 2009, the university received a large donation from the Pauline Murillo family to build a $ 2 million research observatory on campus. W M. Keck Foundation and California Portland Cement Co. also contributed greatly.
Robert and Frances Fullerton Museum of Art
Robert and Frances Fullerton Museum of Art (formerly Robert V. Fullerton Art Museum) are among the 4 percent of museums in the United States accredited by the American Alliance of Museums. The RAFFMA permanent collection consists of three different types of art: ancient, ceramic, and contemporary. World-class collection of about 200 Egyptian artifacts and a small selection of Italian pottery is part of the museum's permanent holdings. Rotating shows feature artists from all regions and countries. One of the museum galleries is dedicated to showcasing the work of the art school students themselves. The museum celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2016 and received accreditation by the American Alliance of Museums in 2008.

The health science building for a four-year nursing program was opened at the Palm Desert Campus in October 2008.
The Palm Desert campus is built entirely with personal funds. This public-private partnership is featured in a front page story in Sunday, Aug. 5, 2003, edition of the New York Times.
Murillo Family Observatory
Murillo Family Observatory is a teaching and research observatory at CSUSB, located at Badger Hill in the northern part of campus. This is the latest research observatory in the Inland Empire and the California State University system. The observatory consists of two telescopes used for research and teaching; 20-inch Ritchey-Chretien and 17-inch Corrected Dall-Kirkham Astrograph. In addition to the research telescope, the observatory has an observation deck with a dock where a small telescope can be set up for undergraduate or undergraduate laboratory classes. It serves both as an academic and community resource, with nighttime viewing of public and special astronomical shows for the community.
Organization and administration
San Bernardino-Riverside State College became part of the California College System (now called California State University system) in 1965 and eventually became California State University, San Bernardino. This, along with 22 other campuses, now forms the California State University system, which is the largest higher education system in the United States.
The current president is Tomas Morales, elected in 2013. A graduate of SUNY New Paltz, he serves on the board of directors of the American Council on Education, and the American Association of State Colleges and Universities, where he is chairman.

Cal State San Bernardino has taken a leading role in advancing the study and understanding of Middle Eastern Culture, and is the only CSU campus offering Arabic and Islamic history courses. The CSUSB University Center for Disability Developments is a clinical training program that provides evaluation, assessment, training, and support for autistic children, their parents, and siblings.
Business Studies and National Security
Many CSUSB programs have gained special national and international accreditation, including business programs, which are the first in Inland Empire to earn AACSB Accreditation at both undergraduate and graduate levels. AACSB accreditation is the highest performing standard for business schools worldwide. Less than 5% of the world's 13,000 business programs have earned AACSB Accreditation. Accredited AACSB schools produce highly skilled graduates and are more desirable to employers than other non-accredited schools. Business and entrepreneurship programs are recognized nationally, as evidenced by the fourth ranking of CSUSB 2006 in the United States for postgraduate entrepreneurship programs. The College of Business and Public Administration of the university is also listed in the 2008 edition and the 2013 edition of The Princeton Review's "Best 290 Business Schools." The master program of National Security Science studies is a nationally recognized two-year program, which offers a comprehensive curriculum for students interested in pursuing careers in national services. This is one of three such programs in the country and the only one in the California State University system. The university also has a collaborative educational program with Fort Irwin nearby. In addition, CSUSB advanced accounting students provide a free tax preparation service for low-income, elderly, disabled and non-English speaking residents.
Jack Brown Hall
If you become a student at California State University, San Bernardino and earn a degree in Business and Public Administration, then most of your studies will take place at Jack Brown Hall. The building was first opened by CSUSB on September 23, 1991 and funded by Stater Bros. Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Jack Brown. Jack Brown generously promised $ 1 Million to build on the increase in 1992, which was the largest CSUSB donation ever received at the time. It was because of this generous donation that CSUSB decided to dedicate the name of the building to him. Jack Brown also decided to invest in future leaders by providing scholarships for students. Education
The university is one of the largest teacher training institutes in the region. In 2007, the university welcomed the first class of doctoral degree candidates. The Ed.D. in educational leadership is a research-based program that prepares pre-K through 12 and community college leaders to contribute to the study, development and implementation of educational reform.
Reception, registration and retention
Admission to CSUSB is based on a cumulative combination of average high school (SMA) and standard test scores. These factors are used to determine the applicant's California State University (CSU) eligibility index. More specifically, the feasibility index is a weighted combination of average high school grades over the last three years of secondary school and scores on SAT or ACT. The average grade for newly admitted students is 3.34. The average composite ACT score was 20 and the mean SAT score was 900. Overall, 58.2% of applicants were accepted at CSUSB. Registration has increased by more than a third in recent years, and enrollment of new students has doubled. Due to the large number of applicants in the fall quarter of 2010, CSUSB has declared "impression campus" for the first time in its history. Over 70 percent of CSUSB students are the first generation of their families to attend college. The enrollment of Latin and African American students is the third highest of all universities in California. CSUSB students are awarded an average of 13 per cent of CSU system scholarships, although they represent only 4 per cent of all CSU enrollments. Fifty-seven percent of full-time undergraduate students at CSUSB receive scholarships and grants sufficient to pay all fees and the other 10 percent pay less than full cost. Nearly 75 percent of CSUSB students receive financial assistance. More than three quarters of new student classes entering 2009 require remediation in either English or Mathematics or both.
The President's Academic Excellence Scholarship Program
Initiated in 2002 by university president Albert K. Karnig, the President's Academic Excellence Scholarship program invited 1 percent of senior high school graduates in San Bernardino County to attend Cal State San Bernardino. The program provides full scholarships, including tuition, books and small salaries, for eligible students and can be renewed for up to four academic years. This program is designed to attract the best and brightest students to CSUSB who may be lured to college outside the region. In the fall of 2010, there were 132 registered undergraduate scholars. The first major donor to the program was Evelyn Magnuson, who extended his inheritance in 2008 through a reward planned to make CSUSB a beneficiary of its $ 2.4 million real estate.

Money puts the country's 10th Cal State San Bernardino of nearly 1500 schools evaluated for the Best School ranking in 2014. The Daily Beast places the 115th San Bernardino Cal State in the country from nearly 2000 schools evaluated for Best Ranking 2013 ratings. CSUSB Jack H. Brown College of Business and Public Administration is ranked as one of the top 20 business schools in the world and one of the 18 most innovative business schools in the world. Student life
Like many universities, much of the student life on campus revolves around a broad local range and retention program. In addition to having the third highest number of Hispanic and African American students from any university in California, CSUSB also has campuses that differ greatly from different ethnicities and nationalities. CSUSB is home to over 100 student clubs and organizations, including academic, cultural, religious, service and political organizations.
Student residence
The Hall of Cal State San Bernardino, known as "The Villages," consists of three structures - Serrano Village, Arrowhead Village, and University Village - which houses more than 1,500 students in single and double rooms.
Student organizations, and activities
Student media organizations include the Coyote Chronicle, student newspapers that are part of the campus media network, and Coyote Radio, a popular radio station for music, local news, campus news and information. It is also one of only 50 college stations worldwide registered as an official iTunes college station. Coyote Radio has recently become a home and partner to Isla Earth, award-winning radio science program. Coussoulis Arena is a popular site for concerts, entertainment events, opening ceremonies and also serves kinesiology students.

With the support of alumni and advisors of the University, CSUSB has seen the establishment of 15 branches of social fraternity and associations managed by Leadership and Student Development. At least eight or more fraternities are coordinated and linked to major, related honor, or community-related services.

Atletik
In 2009, CSUSB athletics celebrates its 25th anniversary. Founded in 1984, the program offers basketball and soccer of men and women, golf and baseball men and women softball, tennis, cross country, water polo, volleyball and consists of entertaining and singing the Coyote Spirit Squad. The school's athletic mascot is the Coyote and the color of the blue school (Pantone 300) and black.
Coyote plays at the California Collegiate Athletics Association (CCAA) in the NCAA Second Division. Men's and women's basketball teams and women's volleyball teams play at James & amp; Aerianthi Coussoulis Arena, and a baseball team playing at Fiscalini Field at Perris Hill Park.
Since 1984, Coyote has taken many local and regional championships and regularly completes national tournaments. The men's soccer team went to the NCAA Division III national semifinals in 1987 and won the first title of the NCAA Division II Academy Collegiate Association in 1991. In 1997, Scott Householder won the national university championship to date with 273 to 72 holes, a record that still standing. Golf man has occupied the third position in the national tournament three times in its history.
The men's baseball team took the Western Conference title in 1990 and 1991. The men's basketball team has won three Western Conference titles, eight CCAA championships, and has made one appearance in the NCAA II NCAA National Semi Finals. The CSUSB women's volleyball team has won six CCAA and three Western Conference titles, having gone to the NCAA II Division semi-finals three times, in 2003, in 2008, when it progressed to the final, 2009 and in 2011.
Famous Alumni
There are currently over 84,000 alumni members in all 50 states and in more than 35 countries. Among the leading CSUSB alumni have become leading entrepreneurs, engineers, athletes, actors, politicians, and those who have gained national and international fame. To keep alumni in touch, the CSUSB alumni association has established more than a few regional alumni groups. The CSUSB alumni have served in the White House, the California Legislature, and the United States Congress.
