" Desert Rose " is a song by British musician Sting from his album Brand New Day (1999). The song depicts the suffering of Adam after he was expelled from Eden. Eve is referred to as the "rose desert". Riding a wave of pre-9/11 interest in Latin and Arab culture, the song peaked at No. 1. 2 in Canada, No. 3 in Switzerland, No. 4 in Italy, No. 15 in the UK, and No. 17 in the United States. The song is famous for the appearance of Sting duet with Algerian singer Cheb Mami, creating a different world music nuance for the song.

Video musik
The Sting music video feature takes a trip through the Mojave Desert on Jaguar S-Type driven by a masked female driver (a possible reference to the sidekick Green Hornet Kato) and then goes to a nightclub in Las Vegas to perform a song with Cheb Mami. After the video shoot, Sting Miles manager Copeland III approached licensed music expert Lloyd Simon to work with Jaguar in a collaboration, and the automotive company displayed the video in their top television commercials during the year 2000.
