Limonium limbatum , common name trans-pecos sea-lavender or marine desert-lavender , is a native plant species The southwest United States (Arizona, New Mexico, Texas and Oklahoma) and also in the Mexican State of Coahuila. Most of the 300 species of the genus are found on the coast and in sea salt marshes, but Limbatum grows on the shores of salt lakes and in alkali basins in desert areas, at an altitude of 400-1800 m.
Limonium limbatum is a perennial herb with large roots, producing a living leaf rosette at flowering time. Leaf length up to 17 cm, thick and rough. Flowering stalks reach 100 cm high, not winged, carry flowers with sepal whitish and blue petals.
