Careers
Katzenjammer/Kyuss
He started his career in 1987 as a guitarist, when he formed Katzenjammer with his fellow bandmates; John Garcia, Josh Homme, Chris Cockrell and Brant Bjork. In early 1989, shortly after Oliveri's departure, the band changed its name to Sons of Kyuss, and after releasing an EP in 1990, the band recruited Oliveri on bass to replace Cockrell, and abbreviated their name to Kyuss.
Oliveri left the band after completing the Blues for Red Sun and was replaced by Scott Reeder, who had been approached to join Kyuss five to six months earlier during a West Coast tour with The Obsessed. After his departure from Kyuss Oliveri joins The Dwarves as a bassist again under the moniker Rex Everything.
Mondo Generator
Nick Oliveri (under the moniker Rex Everything) formed the Mondo Generator in 1997 and with friends Josh Homme, Brant Bjork, Rob Oswald, Karl Doyle and others, recorded his debut album, <
In April 2007, Mondo Generator is scheduled to perform on the 12th annual Ozzfest tour (otherwise known as the "FreeFest" tour), but officially dropped off the tour on July 26, 2007 after performing on four Ozzfest dates. Oliveri stated, "We can not continue touring for free! My band is not free, it's hurting me."
Queens of the Stone Age
Oliveri was a core contributor to Queens of the Stone Age from 1998 to 2004, playing bass and providing backup vocals and leads on two of the band's biggest albums,
Oliveri's main singing can be heard in songs such as "Automatic Pilot," "Stress Head," and "Fast and Endless" from R Rating and "Other Love Songs," "Leave You" "Six Shooter" and "You Think I'm Not Worth A Dollar But I Feel Like A Billionaire," from the Songs for the Deaf.
In January 2004, after a series of touring around Australia, Oliveri was fired from the band, arguing initially as an aggressive treatment of the band's fans, who was later accused of being harassed against his girlfriend. Oliveri has said it has come to his own conclusion that during a ballot at a show in Spain in 2003 he acted too aggressively towards Josh Homme for his relationship with his girlfriend, Brody Dalle after getting too drunk on wine, increasing the tension between the two..
Post Queens of the Stone Age
Since his dismissal from Queens of the Stone Age, Oliveri has recorded an LP acoustic called Demolition Day which was finally released as the second disc in a limited edition of Mondo Generator's latest album Dead Planet: SonicSlowMotionTrails >. Although now concentrating on the Mondo Generator project, in September 2006 Oliveri stated "I feel that Queens is something I can contribute and [Josh Homme] needs me to do it."
There is speculation that he will be back in Queens of the Stone Age during their summer tour because of Josh Homme's dedication from "New Fang" to Nick for a "new start". However, this proved to be wrong. In March 2011, Oliveri stated: "The last time I saw them playing was a benefit for Brian O'Connor in LA, from the Eagles of Death Metal.I was there and I mentioned to them," Why I did not come and do "Millionaire" or something, and sing it and not play bass? "[Josh] like," Well, I do not think that's a good idea. "It's kind of in court for things like that.I do not think he wants to give anyone the wrong idea.I do not know if it will happen. And he has a good band - he brings the band in the direction he wants."
In late November 2012 Oliveri contributed vocals on the song "If I Had a Tail" to his former band Queens of the Stone Age on their album Like Clockwork. After hearing a fellow former Queens member, Dave Grohl would return to the drum on the album, Oliveri asked Josh Homme if he could play bass: "I actually made a request to Josh I heard Dave playing on the record, and I was like, 'Dude I want to play bass on it! ' I would be foolish not to ask.If Dave Grohl plays the drums, then I want to go in. He's a great drummer I've never had a better time in my life than when Dave was in the band. "Homme is not choosing the current Michael Shuman bassist.
In April 2014, Moistboyz opened for Queens of the Stone Age at a concert at Keller Auditorium in Portland, Oregon. Oliveri then joined Queens of the Stone Age on stage for the first time in over a decade to sing "You Think I Is not Worth a Dollar, But I Feel Like Millionaire."
Kyuss Lives!
In June 2010, former members Kyuss Oliveri and Bjork joined Garcia on stage to perform "Green Machine" and "Gardenia" during a headlining performance by "Garcia Plays Kyuss" at Hellfest in Clisson, France and they also performed on stage with Garcia in other concerts on the go.
In November 2010, Oliveri joined Kyuss Lives! with fellow band members Garcia and Bjork. The band initially toured the markets of Europe, Australia and New Zealand in early 2011, and then toured North America. A new studio album is also being planned after the tour. Due to Oliveri's ongoing legal issues resulting from the July 2011 incident, he was unable to leave the US and Scott Reeder filled in for him on several international dates. After traveling around the country in the US with Kyuss Lives! During 2011, Oliveri decided to quit the band to return to work at Mondo Generator.
However, in March 2012, it was revealed that Josh Homme, after persuading bassist Scott Reeder to support him, has filed a federal suit against John Garcia and Brant Bjork accusing "trademark infringement and consumer fraud" over the use of the Kyuss name despite the fact Brant Bjork originally created the name. Nick Oliveri left Kyuss later that month after it was revealed that Garcia and Bjork had tried to take over the Kyuss trademark.
In December 2012, he announced his comeback to Kyuss Lives !, but all tours and promotions since then did not feature Oliveri. In August 2013, singer John Garcia said that the band "is a three-part band with [himself], Brant [Bjork, drummer] and Bruno [Fevery, guitarist]. and described Oliveri as "a member of the honor band".

He allowed his girlfriend to go out two hours into the deadlock and two hours before the SWAT team got into the house and arrested Oliveri. Drugs and loaded rifles are found at home. In August 2012, Oliveri's lawyers reached an agreement with the prosecutor in his case. Oliveri's lawyer, Freddy Sayegh, told TMZ, "Mr. Oliveri agreed to request a count of cocaine possession and dismissal of six remaining crimes."
