The Pinyon Mountains is a mountain range east of San Diego County, Southern California. The range is protected within Anza Borrego Desert State Park.
The Pinyon Mountains are in the ecotone of the Ecoregion Colorado ecoregion (from the east) and from California montane chaparral and forest ecoregion (from the west). They are in the rain shadow of the higher Peninsular Ranges.
