Yonnhy PÃÆ' à © rez (born January 18, 1979) is a former Colombian professional boxer who competed from 2005 to 2011. He holds the IBF bull title from 2009 to 2010, reaching number three in bantam by < i> The Ring in December 2010.

Professional career
Although born in Colombia, PÃÆ' à © rez has fought all but one of his professional fights in the United States. He made his debut on July 30, 2005 in Tucson, Arizona at the age of 26. Pà © He made an excellent start to his career, beating Steve Lozoya in the first round.
PÃÆ' à © rez faced his greatest challenge on May 29, 2009, when he traveled to Johannesburg, South Africa to fight Silence Mabuza in the IBH Bantamweight title eliminator. Mabuza, a native of Johannesburg, is a former world champion and recently lost to the famous Mexican player Rafael Marquez. Despite following all three scorecards, PÃÆ' à © rez was able to knock Mabuza in the final round.
IBF bull class champion
In his first world title contest, PÃÆ' à © rez successfully challenged IBF champion Joseph Agbeko of Ghana. Agbeko, who in the previous battle beat Vic Darchinyan, suffered a knockdown (the result of an unintentional headbutt) in the tenth round on his way to losing his title to PÃÆ'à © rez through a unanimous decision.
On May 22, 2010, PÃÆ'à © rez, defending his IBF title for the first time, fought for a majority draw against Mexican player Abner Mares unbeaten. One judge scored a 115-113 bout supporting Mares while the other two scored 114-114 even, so PÃÆ'à © rez defended his title. After the fight, the two boxers claimed that the decision should go their way, and both expressed interest in a rematch.
Perez vs. Agbeko II
Instead of an immediate rematch with Mares, PÃÆ'à © rez faces Agbeko for the second time in the first round of the Showtime bantamweight tournament, while Mares faces Darchinyan on 11 December. PÃÆ' à © rez went on to miss a unanimous decision for Agbeko in a match, and a technical decision (on unintentional cuts) to Darchinyan on 23 April 2011. In March 2012, after not fighting since losing Agbeko and Darchinyan, PÃÆ'à © rez announced his resignation from boxing, citing the lack of motivation to continue the sport.
