The Desert Iris is a flexible and long-lasting strategic 4x4 vehicle. It was developed by KADDB (King Abdullah Design and Development Bureau) and SHP Motorsports to meet operational requirements identified by the Jordanian Armed Forces (JAF) for a light, cost-effective vehicle, rapid deployment to be used to secure its territorial borders. Desert Iris can install multiple weapons on its multi-purpose weapon tray. This unit can be installed and removed easily and quickly, allowing the Iris Desert to be reconfigured as needed by ground forces.

Variant

Armament

Propulsion

Iris Desert is built around Toyota's automotive components and Toyota 4-cylinder four-cylinder engine. This aircraft can be used as a fast attack platform because its operational range is capable of as far as 600 km on paved surface and 400 km off-road. The engine developed 100 Bhp/75 KW at 4200 rpm. The independent double wishbone with coil-over-shock suspension on the front and an independent training arm on the rear gives the Iris Desert exceptional stability and off-road mobility. The vehicle is capable of maneuvering on a 60% vertical incline slope, as well as 40% horizontal.
