Lassi ( pronounced [l? si:] ) is a popular traditional forehead (yogurt ) beverages based originating from the Indian subcontinent. Lassi is a mixture of yogurt, water, spices and sometimes fruit. Traditional lassi (a.k.a., "salted salt", or simply "lassi") is a savory beverage, sometimes flavored with soil and roasted cumin. Sweet lassi, however, contains sugar or fruits instead of spices. The salt mint liqueur is highly favored in Bangladesh.

In Indian religion, sweetened yogurt with honey is used when performing religious rituals. Less common is the lassi served with milk and covered with a thin layer of clotted cream. Lassi is enjoyed cool as a hot weather refresher, mostly brought with lunch. With a little turmeric powder mixed, it is also used as a traditional remedy for gastroenteritis. In Pakistan, salty lassi is often served with almost all types of food, and most are made at home only by stirring salt in yogurt and water. It is also sold in dairy shops selling yogurt and milk, and both salty and sweet varieties are available.
