Plot
Like its predecessor, Tarzan Triumphs, the film refers to the Tarzan couple, Jane, playing in Weissmuller's previous movie by Maureen O'Sullivan, but not showing it on screen. The explanation given is that he in England helped the war effort. (When Jane's character finally returns in the next Tarzan movie, she is played by Brenda Joyce, not O'Sullivan.)
The film is about Tarzan search, at Jane's urging, to find rare African serums to help Allied forces. Tarzan's boy, Boy, managed to come along when the apeman headed for the Sahara, and the two soon joined a horse and an American witch, played by Nancy Kelly.
The story is mostly fantasy adventure - with the "Arabian Nights" - a horrible Nazi style of style and spy - but also includes comic elements and even science fiction. The critics complained that it was aimed more at teenagers from previous Tarzan movies.
