Banner Health is a non-profit healthcare system in the United States, based in Phoenix, Arizona. It operates 28 hospitals and some special facilities in 6 states. The health system is the largest company in Arizona and one of the largest in the United States with over 50,000 employees.
The organization provides emergency care and hospitals, nursing homes, long-term care/home, outpatient surgery, laboratories, rehabilitation services, pharmacies, and primary care. In 2010, he reported assets of $ 6.4 billion and revenues of $ 4.9 billion.
Banner Health was created in 1999 through a merger between the Lutheran Health System, based in North Dakota, and Samaritan Health System, based in Phoenix, Arizona. History
Lulu Clifton, a deaconess in Methodist Church from Nebraska, arrived in Phoenix in 1900, against his doctor's advice, to recover from tuberculosis. Clifton, with the help of another prominent Methodist, founded Deaconess Arizona Hospital in 1911 in a rented apartment building in downtown Phoenix and started a nursing training program. New construction
