The High Desert Mavericks is a small American League Baseball team in Adelanto, California, who play their home games at Heritage Field at Stater Bros.. Stadium. They play in Class A-Advanced California League. The franchise has eight distinct major league affiliates for 29 seasons.

History
The franchise was founded in 1988 and was first located in Riverside, California, and was known as the Red Wave which began in 1988. In 1991, he moved north across the mountains to Adelanto, part of the Victor Valley metro area in the High Desert area of ​​California.
The Mavericks play their home game at Heritage Field at Stater Bros.. Stadium (known as Stater Bros. Stadium from 2007 to 2014 and Mavericks Stadium until 2007) which opened in 1991 and accommodated 3,808 fans. In January 2016, Adelanto City Council canceled the team's rent at Heritage Field. The Mavericks were able to continue for the 2016 season at Heritage Field. However, on August 22, 2016, the California League announced the Mavericks will not be back for the 2017 season and will stop operating.
Before the League of California announced Maverick would not return, rumors said Maverick moved on and joined Carolina League in Kinston, North Carolina, while maintaining Rangers affiliation. However, Minor League Baseball also announced on August 22 that two expansion teams will join the Carolina League in 2017 with the new Kinston team taking over Rangers affiliates at the A-Advanced level of the Mavericks.
In their last game, the Mavericks defeated Visalia Rawhide 7-4 on September 17, 2016, to win the California League championship.

- The Mavericks are the only team in the history of the California League to win the championship in the years when their premier league club was formed.
