The Mobile Mini Sun Cup (formerly Desert Cup and Desert Diamond Cup , is a pre-season soccer tournament hosted by Phoenix Rising FC of the United Soccer League and FC Tucson from the Premier Development League, the tournament is sponsored by Mobile Mini, a portable storage company.
Starting in 2011, the inaugural Desert Cup features two Major League Soccer (MLS) clubs, Sporting Kansas City and New York Red Bulls. In the years that followed, the number of participating MLS clubs continued to grow, with the 2018 Sun Mini Cellular Cup featuring eleven MLS clubs - almost half the total league membership.

History
The first edition of the tournament, held at Hi Corbett Field, a former baseball spring training stadium saw a spike in spectators with international stars like Thierry Henry, Rafael MÃÆ'árquez, and Omar Bravo playing.
The second edition takes place from February 22 to March 3, aligning some other preseason tournaments ahead of the American domestic overseas league season of 2012. Three new clubs compete in the 2012 edition of the tournament: defending MLS Cup champions Los Angeles Galaxy, Real Salt Lake and New England Revolution joining the New York Red Bulls, who return for their second Desert Cup performance. The 2012 Desert Diamond Cup moved to the Kino Veterans Memorial Stadium and saw the club play a total of four games each.
Phoenix Rising FC purchased FC Tucson on October 11, 2017. On December 5, Phoenix Rising FC and FC Tucson announced that they will host the tournament and will be renamed Mobile Mini Sun Cup, with Mobile Mini as a sponsor. The match will be played at the North Stadium at the Kino Sports Complex as well as the Rising FC Phoenix Football Complex. A record 11 teams will participate in the 2018 tournament.
