Adriano Zumbo (born November 7, 1980) is an Australian tissier and chef, known as the croquembouche tower, V8 cake, and fairy tale house at MasterChef Australia . Dubbed the "sweet assassin", "Patissier of Pain", "Dark Lord of the Pastry Kitchen" and "Lord Voldecake", Zumbo is also known for introducing contestant MasterChef to his technically challenging dessert.. Zumbo's creations are unique in their names, the techniques he creates, and the unusual ingredients, such as black olives and beets.
Zumbo, as it is known in the culinary world, also appeared on the Zumbo documentary television series, showing the daily routine of a chef in his Balmain kitchen business. It's played on SBS One Thursday at 7:30 pm.

Biography
Adriano Zumbo was born to Italian parents, Frank and Nancy Zumbo, from Calabria and raised in Coonamble, New South Wales, 164 kilometers (102 miles) northwest of Dubbo. Zumbo's parents own an IGA local supermarket, where he develops sweet tooth and sharp business sense. His early years were spent in Italy where he learned to appreciate the different types of coffee, reflected in the coffee-inspired culinary items found in the various pastry shops he owned around Sydney.
After finishing school in Year 12, Zumbo went to Sydney to start his apprentice chef certainly in 1997. He works under renowned culinary icons in Australia and France including Ramon Morato and Pierre HermÃÆ'Â ©. Zumbo started his career by providing homemade tarts, muffins, brownies and banana bread to a local cafe in Sydney. He then switched to selling goods to the farmer's market before opening his first patisserie at Balmain in 2007. Currently, Adriano Zumbo has six patisseries in Sydney: Balmain, Pyrmont, Chatswood, Circular Quay, Macquarie Shopping Center, Queen Victoria Building and Melbourne: Melbourne Emporium and South Yarra. In addition to appearing as guest judge at the MasterChef and observational documentary series, 2011 saw Zumbo release his first book, Zumbo Book .
